Thanks to its quick drying after machine washing, the risk of bacteria settling on your duvet cover is greatly reduced. This is reassuring for anyone who suffers from allergies on a daily basis.

How do you remove a stain from a linen duvet cover?

It is entirely possible to remove a stain from a linen duvet cover . By acting quickly and following these simple tips , the fabric will retain its original appearance. To remove blood stains , simply rinse the stain with cold water: it will disappear after just one wash in the machine. A coffee stain can be removed by pouring a little lemon juice or white vinegar on it and rubbing vigorously. After a machine wash, your duvet cover will be spotless. How should you wash a linen duvet cover for the first time?

To help set the colour of your duvet cover and make it even softer, we have a very simple tip to share... When your duvet cover arrives at home, soak it in a basin of cold water with 25 cl of white vinegar . Leave it to soak overnight: you can then wash your cover in the machine at 40°C , choosing a gentle spin cycle (maximum 800 rpm). By following this tip, your linen duvet cover will retain its colour for many years and will be particularly soft , for lasting comfort.

How should you wash a linen duvet cover for everyday care?

As well as being particularly elegant, linen is very easy to care for . Simply machine wash your duvet cover at 40°C to 60°C . If you want to look after the linen fibres, a few precautions are recommended: do not overload your drum and wash colours separately . This helps prevent any risk of washing mishaps or colour bleeding. Linen household linen does not require chlorine, bleach, fabric softeners or whitening agents. As for detergent, the choice is yours, although we do prefer gentle and eco-friendly detergents . Finally, you can choose to air dry or use a tumble dryer . By selecting the “delicate” or “ready to iron” programme, the fabric becomes even softer. All you need to do is remove your duvet cover as soon as the cycle ends for a naturally crumpled effect . By following these simple washing tips, your linen duvet cover will become even softer over time, helping you enjoy restful nights with complete peace of mind.

Should you iron a linen duvet cover?

At Embrin, we are particularly fond of the beautiful crumpled look of linen , which is instantly recognisable. To enjoy it every day, you can choose not to iron your linen duvet cover. Simply let it dry after machine washing , then store it in your cupboard or put it straight on your bed. You can also iron your linen duvet cover . For this, it is best to do so on the reverse side to avoid damaging the fabric. If you have a steam generator iron, a special linen programme can also be very useful. In any case, we recommend not exceeding 200°C when ironing your linen duvet cover, as this could weaken it.

Embrin offers 5 sizes for all its models: 140 x 200 cm, 200 x 200 cm, 240 x 220 cm, 260 x 240 cm and 280 x 240 cm . A single bed measuring 90 x 190 cm corresponds to a 140 x 200 cm cover. A single bed measuring 120 x 190 or 200 cm requires a 200 x 200 cm cover. If you have a double bed measuring 140 x 190 or 200 cm at home, choose a 200 x 200 cm duvet cover for a shorter drop, or 240 x 220 cm for a longer drop. If your bed is a “queen size” model (160 x 200 cm) , choose a duvet cover of 240 x 220 cm or 260 x 240 cm. Finally, for larger beds known as “king size” (180 or 200 x 200 cm), we recommend a 260 x 240 cm cover for a shorter drop, or 280 x 240 cm for a longer drop.

Is it possible to have a made-to-measure linen duvet cover?

If you haven’t found what you’re looking for among our various sizes, don’t worry. Embrin also offers made-to-measure linen duvet covers . Sizes, colours… Your duvet cover will be unique, for a truly original result that reflects your own interior. To do this, start by choosing your preferred colour. How much does a linen duvet cover weigh?

Our 100% washed linen duvet covers have a weight of 180 g/m² . They are therefore very lightweight, while remaining highly durable. In fact, there are no fewer than 43 threads per cm² . Once stored, your linen duvet cover will take up very little space in your cupboards.

Our partner Terre de Lin also uses a mechanical harvesting technique , without any chemicals. In a zero-waste approach, every part of the plant is used. That’s not all: once the fabric arrives at the Embrin workshops, it is entrusted to our seamstresses to create unique duvet covers, hand-sewn . What’s more, our linen duvet covers are particularly hard-wearing. You can therefore keep them for a very long time , avoiding repeated purchases.

Where are Embrin linen duvet covers made?

All our washed linen duvet covers are designed in the workshop at the Embrin family farm . In the heart of Seine-Maritime , our seamstresses work with dedication, surrounded by fields of Normandy flax. The linen we use for our duvet covers is traditionally grown in Normandy . Our local partner, Terre de Lin , then takes over, harvesting it with respect for the environment. The spinning stage takes place in Europe, as there are currently no linen spinning mills in France. Once transformed, the linen returns to our workshops to be sewn to order . Each Embrin duvet cover is unique, ensuring a high-quality French product .

il est un peu tôt pour vous faire part de mes impressions sur la qualité des draps en lin que j’ai commandés, d’autant que c’est pour faire un cadeau de Noël.
À première vue, les couleurs sont magnifiques. J’ai choisi caramel et miel. Avant de choisir la couleur, j’ai demandé qu’on m’envoie des échantillons. Cela cela m’a bien aidé.
Les taies d’oreiller sont jolies car elles comportent un petit volant discret et joli qui permet une bonne tenue. Je préfère à la forme « sac » que l’on trouve ailleurs couramment.
Je n’ai pas osé déplier les draps pour vérifier la texture du tissu. J’aime le lin serré et épais. J’espère que je ne serai pas déçue. Embrin affiche un tissage à 180 mg. Les draps que l’on trouve couramment à 160 mg sont trop fins à mon goût.
J’adore la chute de tissu pour faire un emballage cadeau à nouer autour de la parure. C’est vraiment très joli et une excellente idée!

La housse de couette que j'ai choisie a transformé l'ambiance de ma chambre. Le lin lavé donne une sensation de luxe et de confort inégalés. La couleur caramel est chaleureuse et s'accorde parfaitement avec le reste de ma décoration. Le tissu est à la fois doux et résistant, ce qui promet de belles nuits de sommeil. Le soin apporté aux détails, comme la fermeture à boutons, ajoute une touche de raffinement. Je suis vraiment ravie de cet achat qui allie esthétique et confort.

Depuis + d'un an nous utilisons les produits Embrin, serviette de bain, taie d'oreiller, drap housse, housse de couette, serviette de table. La qualité des produits est vraiment appréciable. Draps en lin cultivé, filé, tissé et cousu dans un périmètre restreint. Tissu épais, solide et de belle couleur qu’on reçoit très joliment emballé avec le nom de la couturière pour encore plus de personnalisation et de traçabilité. Une entreprise rare mais si précieuse aujourd’hui.

Je prends enfin le temps de remercier Hélène et les couturières de la ferme qui ont réussi à fabriquer et m’envoyer en un temps record 3 magnifiques nappes en lin brut pour notre table de mariage! Une fabrication française à l’excellent rapport qualité /prix, qui peut être fière d’elle pour sa grande qualité de lin. Sans oublier la conception sur mesure, la gentillesse et l’écoute afin de trouver une solution en période de vacances ! Bref, je recommande vivement!

Nous sommes fidèles depuis plusieurs années. Dormir dans du lin est vraiment des plus agréable. Draps papillons, housses de couette, taies d'oreiller tout est parfait et leur tissage de lin ne s'use pas comme les draps courants du commerce. En plus l'accueil est chaleureux, dommage qu'ils soient si loin de chez nous pour leur rendre visite.
