The delicate step of the first wash

To prevent the beautiful colours of your linen bed linen from fading over time, we recommend soaking it in a basin of water overnight.

This will set the colours of the linen and further soften your bed linen, so it becomes increasingly soft over time. Ideally, carry out this little ritual before making your bed for the first time.

After soaking overnight, you can put your linen bed linen in your washing machine and run a cycle at 30°C maximum, preferably with a gentle, natural detergent. Spin at 800 rpm max.

Everyday care, drying and ironing

Linen careAfter the first wash, you can wash your bed linen at 40°C for a standard wash. Spin at 800 rpm. However, if you want to get rid of all the little microbes and bacteria hiding in your sheets or your pillowcases, opt for a 60°C wash.

As for drying, this can be done in a tumble dryer or air dried. The first option makes your linen bed linen much softer. In this case, we recommend using the delicate or ready to iron programme on your tumble dryer, meaning the linen comes out slightly damp. We also advise you to unfold and refold the sheets before putting them in the tumble dryer, to prevent them from balling up and not drying evenly. Remove them as soon as the cycle finishes for a lovely natural crumpled look!

Finally, note that ironing your linen bed linen is not necessary. It has a charming natural crumpled appearance: why not embrace it? If you do want to iron your linen, never do so when dry. Always dampen your sheets slightly, and iron them inside out to avoid creases.

How to remove a stain from linen?

Caring for your linen bed linenOh no! You have spilled your cup of coffee on your duvet cover. Don't panic! Linen is a fabric that is highly resistant to stains, especially if you followed the water and vinegar soak before the first wash. However, make sure you act as quickly as possible, before the stain has time to set.

The best tip depends on the type of stain. Here’s a quick guide:

  • To remove blood stains, simply rinse the stain with cold water and it will disappear after a wash in the machine.
  • Got a grease stain? Rub it with a little mild washing-up liquid and leave it to rest overnight before putting it in the washing machine. Your bed linen will be as good as new!
  • Spilled your cup of coffee on your sheets? Pour some lemon juice or white vinegar on the stain and rub well. Then, pop it in the washing machine.
